• Since I'm Irish it's probably important that I start with traditional Irish music.

• Uilleann pipes
• Fiddle
• Tin whistle
• Flute
• Accordion(piano and button types)
• Concertina
• Bouzouki
• Banjo
• Mandolin
• Harp
• Bodhran

There are many types of tunes in Irish music.
They are:

1. Jigs eg. The Kesh
2. Reels eg. The mason's apron
3. Hornpipes eg. The boys of fair hill
4. Slipjigs eg.The butterfly
5. Polkas eg. The Ballydesmond

Some famous performers of irish music are:

• The Chieftains 
• Planxty
• Sharon Shannon
• The Furys

THE HISTORY:
Most important bits

• This music saw its peak from the 9th to the middle of the 11th century
• The oldest instrument associated with it is the Harp
